TVSD Presentation Open to the Community

Tierrasanta Village of San Diego (TVSD) is hosting the following presentation. Community members are welcome to attend this event.

Fall Prevention & Introduction to ElderHelp Services
Monday, May 8th
1:00 – 2:30 p.m.

More than one in four people 65 and older falls each year, and over 3 million are treated in emergency departments annually for fall injuries. There are simple steps you can take to prevent falls and avoid potentially devastating injuries.

Join village members on May 8th to hear from Carrie McClellan, the Outreach Manager for ElderHelp, a local nonprofit organization that supports seniors in San Diego. Carrie will explain the many risk factors for falling and share ways to improve strength, balance and how to make your home safer.

ElderHelp is dedicated to improving the lives of seniors and their families. Carrie will discuss the personalized services and information that ElderHelp provides to help seniors remain independent in their own homes, such as shared housing, transportation, grocery shopping assistance, minor home repairs, and more. In addition, she will provide information about how to stay active and involved through volunteer opportunities available.

This event is free, open to the public, and is also available online via Zoom. (Masks are encouraged).

Seating is limited. RSVP to tierrasantavlg@gmail.com or 858-569-9119 to receive the event address, parking instructions or the Zoom meeting link.

Tierrasanta Village works to connect members to the many practical support services available in the county and to promote staying active. Ultimately, these two goals of the Village allow members to live in their current homes as long as possible.
