Tierrasanta’s Open Space Committee meets periodically to discuss maintenance of the community’s open space areas and canyons, the community parks and joint-use facilities, the medians (on Tierrasanta Bl, Clairemont Mesa Bl, Antigua Bl and Santo Rd) and public right-of-way spaces. This the the body that makes recommendations to the City of San Diego’s open space manager for Tierrasanta, and it is our open space manager who directs the activities of Tierrasanta’s open space contractor Treebeard.

The funds to support this maintenance come from Tierrasanta’s Maintenance Assessment District (MAD). The Mad is funded by a property tax assessment dedicated to providing funds for the MAD. The MAD is funded at about $1 million per year.
